Welcome to Behind the Model — where we spotlight the people who are building the future of finance at Model ML. Get to know their stories, journeys, and what drives them. Interested in joining the team? Explore our openings here.

Raghav grew up in India and moved to London at 18 to study at Oxford and Imperial. London has been the only place that’s ever felt like home, the only city he’s lived in for more than four straight years. After university, he took a year off to pursue high-altitude mountaineering, training with the Indian Army mountaineering team and completing multi-month expeditions across the Himalayas and Andes.

He began his career in Bain & Co’s private equity team, working in London and San Francisco, and also spent time in sales and trading at Merrill Lynch, as well as in venture capital, growth equity, and seed-stage startups in Chief of Staff roles. After four years at Bain, he moved to the U.S. for an MBA at Harvard Business School, where he saw the rapid rise of AI and realized that much of the value was shifting to the application layer.

As graduation neared, he planned to return to Bain or join a late-stage AI startup in San Francisco, until a series of chance encounters with Chaz, founder of Model ML, changed everything. He flew to London instead to help build Model ML and for a “chance at greatness” as Chaz put it.

Outside work, Raghav is an adrenaline junkie—skiing, scuba diving, skydiving, cliff diving, and mountaineering. A big part of why he loves Model ML is that early-stage sales feels like an extreme sport: every day is an event, every moment matters.

What do you enjoy the most about working at Model ML?
The people here inspire me. I’m in the office seven days a week, working 15-hour days. Everyone operates like a high-performance athlete, focused on delivering for our customers. Despite this drive, they remain humble, low-ego, intelligent, kind, and always willing to help. This rare combination of traits motivates me to continually improve and strive for excellence.

What’s your favourite use case?
AutoCheck & PlzFix - Use AI to identify errors in a 200-page deck and fix them in seconds? Count me in. I spent years in consulting, serving as the human version of AutoCheck for managers and partners. This is a pain point that everyone in financial services has experienced at some point. I am excited to lead the product development for this feature, delivering tangible value to our enterprise customers as soon as they sign up.

What’s your favourite AI tool?
Superhuman Mail & Wispr Flow. As a salesperson, I spend my days on emails and calls. I send around 300 emails each month. The combination of Superhuman & Wispr saves me hours each week, allowing me to focus on other, more strategic, tasks.
